MANSORY for the BMW 7 Series G70 — one kit covering the 760i, the 740i and the i7 electric sisters

Munich made an unusual choice with the current 7 Series: the G70 flagship sedan and the i7 battery-electric sedan share one body shell, one wheelbase and almost all exterior panels. That means a single Mansory carbon programme covers all of them — from a 740i straight-six at the entry end, through the 760i xDrive with the N63 biturbo V8, across to the i7 xDrive60 and the 485 kW M70 xDrive at the electric flagship end. This page walks through which parts ship for each variant, what changes for the i7's cooling and charge-port access, and why the German home market is not the single largest geography for this donor.

One shell, three drivetrains, one carbon kit

BMW's G70 and the i7 share the exterior parts stamping below the grille-and-DRL assembly. The only panels that split between the ICE G70 and the i7 are (a) the upper grille illumination frame (BMW keeps an Iconic Glow option on the grille for both variants but routes different DRL clusters), and (b) the rear-bumper cutouts around the exhaust tips on the ICE cars versus the smooth rear lower on the i7. Mansory's programme dimensions one front bumper for both ICE and i7, and ships two rear apron variants: an ICE-spec apron with the quad-tip cutouts sized to 760i / 740i exhausts, and a smooth-rear apron for the i7 variants without any exhaust cutouts. Everything else — side skirts, bonnet, mirror caps, ducktail, carbon grille overlay — is common.

The parts list, by zone

Material choice is standard for this donor class: dry carbon on the bonnet and ducktail, PU-RIM composite with visible carbon trim on the bumpers and rear apron (dry-carbon upgrade available for the front bumper only), twill-weave on the mirrors and grille. Install runs three to four shop days including the paint-match window for the PU-RIM bumper panels.

Front zone: front bumper with enlarged side intakes, front splitter / lower lip, vented carbon bonnet with a subtle twin-louvre outlet (not the aggressive louvre of the M-series — the G70 buyer profile takes a more restrained look), carbon grille overlay that sits above the factory Iconic Glow frame without blocking the illumination.

Mid zone: side skirts with carbon flow blades, body-coloured or raw-carbon mirror cap pair, door-handle trim overlays.

Rear zone — two variants: ICE-spec rear apron with quad-tip diffuser cutouts (fits 740i / 740d / 760i); i7-spec smooth-rear apron without exhaust cutouts (fits i7 xDrive60 / i7 M70 xDrive). Both variants ship with a common ducktail boot-lid spoiler and common rear-reflector surrounds.

What changes for the i7 specifically

The i7 carries a different thermal architecture from the ICE G70. The dual-motor cooling stack, the 101.7 kWh battery pack liquid cooling loop, and the inverter cooling path all route through the front bumper's main intake and through the lower radiator opening. Mansory's front bumper for the i7 variant preserves the factory radiator opening geometry and the factory lower-intake aperture — this is a design target so that the i7's thermal management stays at factory spec even under DC fast-charge scenarios where the cooling system is ramped hard while the car is stationary. The i7's front charge port sits in the left front fender; the Mansory fender-trim overlay does not cover the charge-port door and does not interfere with the factory flush-door actuator.

The i7 M70 xDrive at 485 kW peak output is the current top-of-the-line BMW electric variant. Owners specifying the Mansory kit on the M70 typically pair it with the 23" forged wheel (see below) and a lowering module that interacts with the factory air suspension; both are separate SKUs and do not alter the M70's torque-vectoring or drive-mode behaviour.

Drivetrain coverage — all factory powertrains stay at factory output

The Mansory G70 kit is a bodywork programme only. The N63 4.4 biturbo V8 on the 760i xDrive remains at 540 hp. The inline-six on the 740i / 740d remains at factory spec. The i7 xDrive60 at 400 kW and the i7 M70 at 485 kW both stay at factory calibration. A Mansory stainless sport-exhaust is available as a separate line item for the 760i and the 740i and is not applicable to i7 variants. ECU tunes are handled as per-VIN engineering work outside the catalogue.

Wheels — 23" forged as the standard, 22" as the restrained option

The G70 ships from BMW on 19", 20" and 21" factory wheels (with a 22" available on the 760i and on the i7). Mansory's standard wheel for the G70 / i7 programme is a 23" forged multi-spoke paired to the new kit's arch geometry. The 23" accepts both the 740i / 740d tyre profile (narrower shoulder) and the i7 M70 tyre profile (wider shoulder for the electric drivetrain torque load). A 22" option is available for owners who want to keep a taller tyre for airport-corridor speed-bump compliance and ride comfort — the 22" is the most-commissioned wheel among chauffeur-driven i7 owners (see geography below). Full wheel range at Hodoor forged wheels.

Where G70 and i7 orders split between markets

The G70 / i7 geography is shaped by one observation: the ICE 760i and the i7 sell into different markets, and within each market the two variants often go to different buyer types. The Mansory order book splits along the same line.

The i7 dominates two geographies: China (the i7 is the single most-registered variant of the G70/i7 shell in Chinese luxury sedan registrations, driven by NEV incentive structure in Tier 1 cities) and the Netherlands plus Norway (where the i7 benefits from the BEV company-car tax treatment that drives flagship-fleet orders into the electric rather than the ICE variant). The Mansory commissions in these markets are almost entirely i7 specifications — the smooth-rear apron, the 22" or 23" wheel, and a restrained bonnet spec without the aggressive louvre. Chauffeur-driven use is common, which is why the restrained louvre spec dominates over the more visible M-variant louvre.

The 760i dominates two different geographies: the Gulf flagship corridor and the US long-haul commuter corridor. In the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, the 760i xDrive with the N63 V8 is specified as an owner-driver car (not chauffeur) and orders the Mansory kit with dry-carbon front bumper, aggressive louvre bonnet, and 23" wheel. The US order book is less visible (no country-blog page) but routes through the same freight channel as Maybach S-Class commissions.

Germany — the home market — is notably not the single largest G70 Mansory geography, because a meaningful share of German 7 Series registrations are corporate leases through chauffeur fleets that do not specify aftermarket cosmetics. The German order book concentrates on owner-driver 760i xDrives in the Frankfurt and Munich luxury corridors. Switzerland and Austria sit as the Alpine extension.

Asia-Pacific beyond China: Hong Kong takes a small mixed i7 / 760i order volume, Singapore is i7-heavy because of the COE environmental-surcharge incentives, and South Korea takes a recurring mid-size i7 order book concentrated in Seoul's Gangnam district.

Sister Mansory BMW programmes

The G70 kit shares the Mansory BMW flagship stack with the BMW M5 G90 carbon programme (the M-car sport sedan sibling) and the older G12 7-Series kit (the previous-generation 7-Series). Owners stepping up from the G12 to a G70 often commission the new kit to the same weave specification as their previous Mansory G12. The G70 is also the closest silhouette sibling to the Maybach S-Class Mansory; households often run the two as paired flagships.

Ordering & lead time

Full G70 / i7 carbon set: four to six weeks from the workshop. Mansory sport exhaust (760i / 740i only): three weeks. 23" forged wheel set: four weeks. 22" forged wheel set: three to four weeks. Email [email protected] with your VIN, the variant (740i / 740d / 760i xDrive / i7 xDrive60 / i7 M70 xDrive), the OEM BMW paint code, and the preferred rear-apron variant (the workshop defaults to ICE-spec or i7-spec based on the VIN but confirms before dispatch). For i7 M70 commissions specify whether the lowering module is desired — the M70 runs the factory air-suspension at a specific BEV-calibrated ride height that the lowering module adjusts.

FAQ

Does the kit fit both the ICE 7-Series and the i7 electric on the same part numbers?
Most parts are shared between ICE and i7 (front bumper, bonnet, side skirts, ducktail, mirror caps, grille overlay). The rear apron splits into two variants — ICE-spec with quad-tip cutouts and i7-spec smooth rear. The workshop routes the correct rear apron by VIN automatically.

Will the front bumper block the i7's radar and camera sensors or the BMW Iconic Glow?
No. The bumper retains the factory radar-module apertures, the factory front camera mount, and the cruise-control long-range radar window. The Iconic Glow frame sits above the grille-overlay line and continues to illuminate through the overlay.

Does the kit interfere with the i7 charge-port door or the DC fast-charge flap?
No. The left-front-fender charge-port door is not covered by any Mansory panel. The flush-door actuator remains factory.

Does the kit fit the long-wheelbase 7-Series variant?
The G70 7-Series in most markets is sold only in the long-wheelbase (LWB) body — there is no short-wheelbase G70 globally. All Mansory parts are dimensioned to the LWB wheelbase. The i7 is also LWB-only.

Can I specify a more aggressive M-spec louvre bonnet?
A higher-louvre bonnet SKU is available as a separate commission for owners who want the M-variant aesthetic on the 760i. It is not part of the standard kit and does not fit the i7 thermal architecture because the louvre position interacts with the BEV front cooling stack. 760i and 740i commissions only.

Does the lowering module work with the factory BMW Adaptive Air Suspension?
Yes. The Mansory lowering module interfaces with the BMW air-suspension control unit and offsets the ride-height target without modifying the adaptive-damping behaviour. It is a separate line item, not part of the base kit.

Is the i7 M70's 485 kW launch-control behaviour affected by the kit?
No. The bodywork has no interaction with the M70's torque-vectoring or launch-control calibration. Owners who specify the lowering module should note that the M70's air-suspension target height adjusts on full-throttle launch for aerodynamic balance — the Mansory lowering module retains the target-height offset logic.
